Do plants breathe?

Just like humans and other animals breathe by taking in oxygen and giving out carbon dioxide, plants do breathe. They release oxygen in the day time through photosynthesis and at night time, they release carbon dioxide and use oxygen. The exchange of gases occurs through the stomata.
