ABOUT the institute

The National Institute of Technology Raipur (NIT Raipur) was originally founded in 1956 as the Government College of Mining and Metallurgy. It is one of the oldest institutes in the fields of Mining and Metallurgy in India. The institution was given the status of an NIT in 2007. The campus of NIT Raipur is spread over 100 acres, making it one of the largest campuses of technical institutes in Chhatisgarh. It houses six hostel blocks, a bank, dispensary, guest house, canteen, student activity center, cooperative store and a division of the Raipur railway station on its premises. The college has an impressive placement record, with a number of MNCs and PSUs visiting the campus for placements each year.
