IIT Kharagpur is the first IIT established in India by Government of India in the year 1951. It is one of the most prestigious institutions of the country, established with a goal to train engineers and scientists. The institute has 19 academic departments along with 13 schools of excellence. It also has the world class central research amenities and laboratories. IIT KGP offers undergraduate degrees in B.Tech.Hons (Bachelor of Technology) and BArch (Bachelor of Architecture). It also offers 5 year integrated MSc (Master of Sciences). In PG courses, the institute offers postgraduate programmes which also include MTech (Master of Technology) and MBA (Master of Business Administration).
