Formerly, IIT-BHU was known by IT-BHU. This is an engineering institute in the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) campus that is situated in Varanasi, UP, India. This educational institute is known for being one of the highest-ranked and oldest prestigious engineering colleges. This college was founded in the year 1919. In 2012, this college was designated as an Indian Institute of Technology. This IIT has around 13 departments and 3 inter-disciplinary schools. The establishment of this college is linked with BHU, Banaras Hindu University. On 19th January, 1919, the first convocation was held.
