If Bromoethane undergoes Wurtz reaction with sodium, ethane and ethane are formed as byproducts along with the main product n-hexane. Why?

I guess you have misunderstood the reaction.
bromoethane on Wurtz reaction gives n-hexane (as main product) and NaBr (as side product).
When you have two different alkyl halides then only we can get variety of products.
