i m a student who is preparing for iit jee 2012. i wish to know the cut off marks and rank required in iit jee for entering into any of iit colleges. i m interested to do aeronautical engg or mechanical engg.

THERE IS NO SUCH CUT OFF DEFINED FOR SELECTION IN JEE.IT IS THAT IT DEPENDS ON THE TOUGHNESS OF THE PAPER BUT IT IS USUALLY BETWEEN 180-200 AND AS YOU WANT AERONAUTICAL OR MECHANICAL SO YOU SHOULD SCORE SOMETHING ABOUT 250 TO GET IT GOOD ONES.BEST OF LUCK.

aeronautical engineering in iit bombay requires 1000th-  rank in iit jee.

You need to get a rank below 150 and for this your mark should be around 70 to 80 percent
