how to compare dipole moments of different compounds including organis compounds too

It is based on the electronegativities of atoms. Draw dipole moment vectors in the direction of electron shift for each bond in a molecule. Draw the resultant and compare with another. If more electronegative atoms are there in an atom it will have more dipole moment(provided they don''t get cancelled)
