How many integers, greater than 999 but not greater than 4000, can be formed with the digits 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4, if repetition of digits is allowed?

 number greater than 999 means numbers will start from 1000 that means we have to form 5 digit number 

so digits 0 cannot be there in thousands place and the number should be less than 4000 

so 4 should not be also there in thousands place and repitition is also allowed

so in the

1)thousands place we can arrange 3 digits (1,2,3) so number of ways is 3

2)hundreds place we can arrange all the five digits (1,2,3,4,5) so number of ways is 5

3)tens place we can arrange all the five digits (1,2,3,4,5) so number of ways is 5

4)in ones place we can arrange all the five digits (1,2,3,4,5)so number of ways is 5

so the total number of ways is 3*5*5*5  and we will also include 4000 so we will add 1 also

376 is the total required number of digits
