Introduction
The Higher Secondary Education is a stepping stone towards the higher education and has been a significant part of the overall education system. West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has left no stone unturned in making a sustained effort towards the quality of the education. Presently, the board has more than 4300 schools and over 8 lakhs students studying in it.
Also known as the Uchyaa Madhyamik, the Higher Secondary examination is conducted annually in the month of March across the state of West Bengal and also in the schools outside the state which are affiliated to the West Bengal Board.
The board has its headquarters at Vidyasagar Bhavan, Salt Lake City, in Kolkata. Besides this, the board has 3 other offices at Bidhannagar, Karunamoyee, and Kolkata along with other 4 regional offices in different part of the country.
Functions of the Board
Some of the major functions of the board include:

Fulfilling the educational requirements at higher secondary level and putting down the General policy for the growth and development of the Higher Secondary Education.

Performing regular inspection of the recognized institutions.

Providing correct syllabus, curriculum and books to the recognized schools/colleges
-
Publishing the results of examination and awarding certificates and scholarship to the deserving students
Curriculum
The courses offered by the Higher Education Council consist of two parts, i.e. Class XI and Class XII. The curriculum consists of:

Two language subjects one each from Group 'A' and Group 'B'
-
Three compulsory elective subjects
-
One optional elective subject
West Bengal Board Class 12 Important Dates
Every year the board conducts the class 12th examination for Science, Commerce & Arts stream. Generally, the board conducts the examination in the month of February and March and the timetable for all the streams are declared before two months of the examination.
The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education is soon going to announce the timetable for class 12 exam 2015. Meanwhile, students may check the process of downloading the timetable from the board official website.
How to Get WBBSE Exam 12th Date Sheet 2015

Firstly, the candidates need to visit the official website of the WBBSE and need to navigate the examination option.

Select Senior Secondary exam option and click on the date sheet

Once you click on the datasheet, you can see the timetable on the screen. You may either take the print out our save it in your desktop for further reference.
