Concept of matrices, zero and identity matrix, operations on matrices, elementary row and column operations, invertible matrix and the transpose of a matrix, properties of determinants, applications of determinants, number of solutions of a system of linear equations 


Unit 3: Calculus 

Chain rule, the derivative of inverse trigonometric functions and implicit functions, logarithmic differentiation, second-order derivatives, maxima and minima, integrals, evaluation of simple integrals, applications of integrals, the area between curves 


Unit 4: Vectors and Three - Dimensional Geometry

Definition of a vector, magnitude of a vector, types of vectors, the definition of a scalar, the shortest distance between two lines, Cartesian and vector equation of a plan, the angle between two planes, two lines and a line and a plane


Unit 5: Linear Programming

Introduction, different types of linear programming problems, graphical method, bounded and unbounded regions, feasible and infeasible solutions,  optimal feasible solutions


Unit 6: Probability

Conditional probability, Bayes’ theorem, independent events, total probability, Random variable and its probability distribution, Binomial probability distribution

No, there is no specific chapter-wise weightage given. However, the weightage is given unit-wise. This is to ensure that students study every chapter carefully and practice all the concepts.
