CBSE Syllabus for Class 9 Chemistry 2021-2022 Exam

CBSE Class 9 Chemistry syllabus will help you understand how many topics you need to study for the exam under the Chemistry stream. Until class 9, Science is taught as a unified subject. But, many students insist on understanding the difference between the topics under Physics, Chemistry and Biology so that they can analyse their interests. This will help them prepare for the higher classes in a better way. In Class 9 Science, only one unit comprises Chemistry topics and that is Unit I: Matter - Its Nature and Behaviour. The unit is quite big and accounts for 23 Marks out of the 80 Marks of the theory examination.

In Class 9 Chemistry you will be studying the concept of Matter that is, solids, liquids and gases. You will understand freezing, evaporation, condensation and sublimation. You will also learn about mixtures and the particle nature of matter. Do you know that everything is made up of atoms? What are atoms? How are they formed? What do they look like? What are they made up of? You will find an answer to every question in the Class 9 Chemistry syllabus.

Chemistry is known to be a subject that helps you understand how things work around us. You must take note of all the topics to be studied mentioned in the syllabus so that you can understand everything thoroughly. The better you understand the topics, the easier it will be for you to score the full 23 marks in the theory paper. The syllabus for Class 9 Chemistry includes the following:

  • List of topics: Chapters and concepts that you need to study for Class 9 Chemistry
  • List of practicals: Practical experiments to be conducted based on Chemistry concepts
  • Marking scheme: Marks associated with CBSE Class 9 Chemistry
