CBSE Syllabus for Class 11 Commerce Maths 2021-2022 Exam


CBSE Class 11 Maths syllabus for Commerce stream is created for students who want to pursue Social Sciences or Commerce-based subjects in university education. Mathematics is an important subject, widely used in higher studies in the field of Economics, Commerce and Social Sciences. But, the Mathematics syllabus for Science subjects is quite different from what the Commerce subjects require. Therefore, the Central Board of Secondary Education decided to create a separate subject - Applied Mathematics for students of the Commerce stream. 


The syllabus for Class 11 Commerce Maths will help the students in developing the basic mathematical and statistical tools and their applications in the field of commerce (business, economics, finance) and social sciences. The syllabus includes 8 Units - Unit 1: Numbers, Quantification and Numerical Applications, Unit 2: Algebra, Unit 3: Mathematical Reasoning, Unit 4: Calculus, Unit 5: Probability, Unit 6: Descriptive Statistics, Unit 7: Basics of Financial Mathematics, Unit 8: Coordinate Geometry. The theory examination will be of 80 Marks while 20 Marks are allotted to internal assessment.
