Chapter 1: Crop Production and Management

Agricultural practices, Kharif crops, rabi crops, basic practices of crop production, preparation of soil, agricultural implements, sowing, selection of seeds, the addition of fertilisers and manures, advantages of using manures, irrigation, traditional methods of irrigation, modern methods of irrigation, protection from weeds, harvesting, storage, food from animals

Chapter 2: Microorganisms: Friend and Foe

Different microorganisms, friendly microorganisms, where do microorganisms live, making of curd, making of bread, commercial use of microorganisms, medical use of microorganisms, vaccine, increasing the fertility of the soil, cleaning the environment, harmful microorganisms, disease-causing microorganisms, nitrogen cycle 

Chapter 7: Conservation of Plants and Animals

Deforestation and its causes, consequences of deforestation, droughts, desertification, conservation of forests and wildlife, biosphere reserve, flora and fauna, endemic species, wildlife sanctuary, national parks, red data book, recycling of paper, reforestation 

Chapter 8: Cell - Structure and Functions

Discovery of the cell, the structure of the cell, multicellular and single cellular organisms, number of cells, the shape of cells, size of cells, cell function, parts of the cell, comparison of plant and animal cells

Chapter 9: Reproduction in Animals

Modes of reproduction, sexual reproduction in animals, fertilisation, development of the embryo, viviparous and oviparous animals, young ones to adults, asexual reproduction

Chapter 10: Reaching the Age of Adolescence

Adolescence and puberty, changes at puberty, change in body shape, voice change, development of sexual organs, reaching mental, intellectual and emotional maturity, secondary sexual characteristics, the role of hormones, how the sex of the baby is determined, reproductive health, personal hygiene
