CRRI, IIT Delhi Roped in To Investigate Munde’s Accident

New Delhi: Taking a step forward in the investigation of the accident of Union Minister Gopinath Munde now the Delhi Police has roped in the IIT – Delhi, CRRI (Central Road Research Institute) and IRTE (Institute of Road Traffic Education) as well for strengthening the investigation.

The agencies have also been asked to recreate the accident scene and to carry out the thorough analysis of the accident. Also a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed by the Delhi Police under the supervision of Mr.Suresh Kaushik, ACP-Crime Branch.

According to the sources Prof. A Chawla of IIT- Delhi has already joined the investigating team since last few days and has been doing the systematic examination of each and every piece of the evidences found. The team has gathered the paint scraped from both the cars, shards of glass, along with a tuft of hair from Munde’s official vehicle’s door. The evidences have been sent to the FSL (Forensic Science Lab) for further examinations.

The Indica car driver, Gurvinder Singh has been interrogated by Special Branch, Intelligence Bureau (IB), Traffic Police and Special Cell as well. The conclusions from the interrogation were such that the driver was in a stable mind and o major conclusion was inferred during the interrogation. Gurvinder Singh was an employee of The Imperial of M/s Echo Rent a Cab and Silver Services.

CDRs (Call Data Records) of the accused driver and his employer are also being tracked by the Delhi Police in order to reveal their connection with any sort of conspiracy. Blood sample of the accused driver has also been sent for the evaluation of presence of any toxic substances.

As informed by a senior Delhi Police official, the investigation team has also gone through duty roster of the driver in order to determine his movements. Also the CDRs (Call Data Records) of the Munde’s officials who were in the car with him are also examined. Statement of Virender Kumar, the driver of Munde has also been recorded by the Delhi Police while he is being treated in the AIIMS Apex Trauma Centre.
