Ajman to welcome a new Eco-friendly school

Now, students synergy with their surroundings will also help them in procuring knowledge as a new eco-friendly school comprising an organic farm opens up in Ajman in April next year.

Constructed on 10 acres of land constituting a 50,000 square metre organic farm with a greenhouse, the Dh50 million Habitat School will follow the CBSE curriculum. The syllabus will be a perfect blend of farming classes along with the curriculum including knowledge of medicinal plants.

The admissions for kindergarten to grade six will be held in next month, while those till grade 12 will be undertaken in the year 2014/15.

Shaikh Sultan Bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, chairman of the school and advisor to the undersecretary of the Minister of Economy in Ajman, quoted that the school shall aid in the government’s motive of green buildings by furthering water and electricity conservation.

The students will have the opportunity of enrolling in the day boarding facilities ending at 4.30pm. As quoted by the Academic director C.T. Adil, students can pick up from any of the six second languages:

  • Arabic

  • Hindi

  • Urdu

  • Tamil

  • Malayalam

  • Bangla

There is no information regarding the fees as it has not yet been approved by the Ministry but nevertheless, Adil asserted that the lower class would be able to afford the fees. Except Ajman, the school’s bus transportation will also be available to areas like:

  • Dubai

  • Sharjah

  • Umm Al Quwain
