The exam center for this exam can be anywhere along West Bengal. The University has the final authority over the choice of the center.
Once the exam center has been allotted to the student, he/she cannot change the center
The University has the final authority over the allotment of the center. The students are not really given a choice in this matter
The admit cards would have the center address written on it. The centers allotted would be nearby to the city of residence
The university has the authority to cancel any center. The candidate cannot question the university over cancellation of a center. On a center being cancelled, the university will ensure that another center is allotted to the set of candidates
Course Information
This exam is conducted to gain admission in post graduate degree as well as diploma courses in Modern Medicine.
It is important to fulfill the eligibility criteria stated on this examination to gain admission to this course.
Academics
The candidates who are willing to gain admission in the post graduate courses in the West Bengal Universities to study modern medicine must possess a regular MBBS degree from a reputed institute in the university of West Bengal
The candidate must also have completed 12 months as an intern in any of the reputed hospitals in the state
The candidate in concern should have registered themselves with the Medical Council of India post their graduation. They should at least have themselves registered with West Bengal Medical Council of India
The candidates who have been in service with the health and family welfare department have some seats allotted to them
In case a candidate has an MBBS degree but from a foreign university, then they must submit relevant documents that speak of their nationality. They should also fulfill the other criteria that have been laid out by the medical council of India
In case the candidate has not done their MBBS degree from West Bengal university, but they are from a different state of India, they are not eligible for candidature
It is important for the candidate to be a resident of West Bengale
They should produce either their 10th mark sheet or 12th marksheet or their MBBS degree from the West Bengal University to be eligible for this course
The age of the candidate is not much of a criteria for the examination
The applicant applying for the WBPGAT should have filled out the online application form. To fill out the application form, the candidate needs to visit the official website of the university http://www.wbuhsexams.in/
Once you have reached the application form, it is vital to fill out all the information that is asked for properly and to the best of your knowledge.
Make sure you have written your name as it has been mentioned on your MBBS degree certificate. Fill in correctly details related to your age, date of birth, gender, nationality, domicile etc.
If you are a foreign citizen, you may want to mention the details as needed by the medical council of India.’
The form will need you to specify details of your 12 months of internship along with details on your education. Make sure you enter your percentage marks correctly.
It is important to upload a recent photograph along with your recent digital signature for verification. Make sure the signature matches the one on your photo identity proof as the two will be compared and verified.
Once the form has been filled, you can always save it and edit it. Submit the form online. Do not send in a hard copy or any other form of the application form for your examination
The examination fee payable for the entrance exam is 3000/- and it is payable in favor of “The West Bengal University of Health Sciences” at Kolkata. When you are sending in the demand draft to the university, make sure you have written your name, mobile number, acknowledgement number of your online application form on the back side of your demand draft. This would make it clear to them for which candidate they are receiving the money.
The last date for online download of admits card for this exam would be January 2018. The candidates will need to enter their application numbers to download the admit card from the university’s official website. The candidate will find their center details on the admit card. The candidate will need to carry a printed copy of the admit card along with their photo identity proof to the examination center. The examination officer will verify the signature on your photo ID proof and the admit card.

The total number of questions asked during this exam would be 200 and the duration of this exam would be 160 minutes. They are all multiple choice questions, and each question is awarded four marks for correct response.
The general category would need to score a 50 percentile minimum to get through the exam while it is 45 percentile for OBC category.

Know your Materials
The first step would be to understand the weightage being given to the different parts of your examination. If there is radiology, and oncology, you will want to know how many questions you will get in the examination for each of these subjects. Once you are aware of the number of questions, you need to begin with the study materials for the various subjects. There would be a lot of competitive study material available online and in the shops.
Plan Out Reading
Your next step includes trying to schedule your reading material. You need to grasp all the subjects and make notes of everything possibly being asked in those subjects while you are preparing.A properly planned out schedule is the way out. In case there are five chapters in Radiology and you feel you can prepare notes and finish it in a day, then schedule a day only for radiology. Make sure every single part of the plan is realistic
Room for Revision
Just one read is never enough for your exam! You need to make sure you have given yourself enough time for revision too. Make sure you have five days of revision at least. There should be two to three revisions before you actually appear for the exam.
Build your Confidence
Confidence plays an important role when you are preparing for an entrance exam. Make sure you don’t lose your cool at any point. Proper preparation and practice will give you confidence. Keep your confidence as high as is needed
Practice is Necessary
When you are preparing for an entrance exam, you need to practice as often as possible. Make sure you have practiced a lot of these papers. There would be practice tests available online and offline. Try to work them through in the exam environment. Finish it within the time needed! Make sure you practice as many papers as possible
Analyze the Papers
Once you have finished writing the papers, correct them as well. Try to analyze the papers till you know where you make maximum mistakes, and try to work on them. Make a good list of all the possible mistakes and try to ward them off.
The results for this exam would be announced on the website on or before February 2018.
The website will announce details on the counseling session for the candidates who have taken and have been selected through this exam.
The candidates selected will need to pay Rs. 3000 for counseling, in case they are willing to take up the seat.
The fees can be paid as an e-challan, to the United Bank of India or through online banking.
The dates for counseling would be mentioned against the candidate. The candidate will need to report on the date mentioned in the list.
