  • City and address for the center of examination will be given on the Admit Ticket.

  • Candidates must bear all costs such as transportation, etc., to appear for the examination.

  • Timings of the exam are mentioned on the Admit Ticket and it is the responsibility of the candidate to reach the center to enter the examination hall half-an-hour before the scheduled commencement of exam.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to appear for a pre medical test KCET 2019 to qualify.

Indian Students

Domicile and Age Eligibility

  • Candidate seeking admission to KCET should be an Indian citizen including the wards of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • She/he must have attained 17 years of age at the time of admission or should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2019.


Academic Eligibility

The applicants should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below

  • The Higher Secondary Certificate/Indian School Certificate Examination/Karnataka Board/Central Board of Education Examination/PUC or an equivalent examination thereto comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

  • The applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology  at the qualifying examination

  • Applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination

  • Applicants who have appeared or will be appearing in the qualifying examination in March / April 2019 and whose results have not yet been declared can also apply for admission and appear in the pre medical test, if other eligibility criteria are satisfied.


Entrance Examination Eligibility

Admissions shall be made on the basis of inter-se merit of the candidates qualified at all India entrance exams.

  • Candidates belonging to the open category must secure not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the KCET 2019 examination.

  • Candidates belonging to backward classes must secure not less than 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the examination conducted for KCET 2019.

Applications

KCET 2019 Application forms can be obtained from the centers allocated within Karnataka or via Speed Post against payment of a sum as specified.

Application Form Process

Within Karnataka

Applications for KCET 2019 will be made available across schools in Karnataka against a challan that has to be downloaded from the Karnataka Examinations Authority.

  • Download challan (three copies) from the KEA website by entering their name, date of birth and name of the bank where application fees is to be paid.

  • Pay requisite fees to the bank branch which is Rs 650/-. Application fees for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category 1 candidates is Rs. 500/-.

  • Bank will retain a copy of the challan and hand over two copies to the candidates.

  • Candidates are required to hand over one copy to a school or college Principal to obtain the brochure.

Outside Karnataka

Applications for KCET 2019 can be obtained via Speed Post only.

  • Send a self-addressed cloth lined envelope of size 25 cm x 30 cm along with a demand draft.

  • Demand Draft should be for Rs. 750/- (Rs. 5000/- for Karnataka candidates residing outside India) and should be drawn in favor of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore” payable at Bangalore.

  • The cover in which the Demand Draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be super scribed with the words “Request for CET-2019 Brochure”. It should be sent to the Executive Director.

Submission of Application Form

  • Application for KCET may be submitted personally to colleges/schools or mailed by speed post with a demand draft as mentioned above.

  • Please retain a copy of the challan.

  • Incomplete application, application with false details or application form not accompanied by a demand draft would be rejected.

General Instruction for Filling out Application Form

  • Read the prospectus and the instruction carefully.

  • The candidate should acquaint himself/herself with all requirements with regard to filling up the KCET application form.
     

Admit Cards

  • The KCET admit card will be sent via post.

  • It will indicate the seat number, the examination centre (with its address) allotted to the candidate.

  • Contact relevant authorities if you do not receive the card.

  • The candidate shall not mutilate the admit card or change any entry made therein after it has been authenticated.

  • Note that issue of Admit Card for KCET is just a provision for appearing for the entrance examination and does not imply that the candidate is eligible for admission in MBBS or BDS.
     

Syllabus & Pattern for KCET 2019

Syllabus

The syllabus for the combined entrance test for Physics, Chemistry and Biology will be based on syllabus followed by 10+2 Boards/Universities of Karnataka and India.


Exam Pattern

The KCET 2019 exam pattern is different from the other all India medical exams. Instead of one paper, candidates have to appear for three papers over a period of two days. The papers will be for Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Each paper will be for a period of 80 minutes each and each will be for 60 marks. The details for the exam timings and marks are given in the table below.

Appearing for the KCET 2019 Exam

It is mandatory for the candidate appearing for entrance exam for medical to report 30 minutes before the start of the exam at the center mentioned on the admit card.

  • Read and follow instructions carefully.

  • Read each question carefully before choosing the correct answer.

  • Select the answer only if you are sure of the answer and darken circle accordingly in your OMR booklet.  

  • Duplicate answers are not counted so darken circle only when sure of an answer. If an answer needs to be altered erase completely. However, erasing is unadvisable.

  • Candidates are advised to go through the Mock Test for various entrance exams for medical admissions to understand KCET medical exam pattern.

Documents Verification

MBBS & BDS Candidates called for admission only after document verification to be conducted at centers across the state. The table below gives the schedule for document verification. 

  • Candidates will become eligible for admission to medical and dental colleges after verification only at the centers set up for this purpose. Name of the centers are available on the website.

  • Candidates must bring original as well as attested copies of all documents to be verified. Internet downloaded mark cards are not accepted.

  • Physical presence of the candidate is mandatory on the document verification date KCET 2019. If a candidate is prevented by unavoidable circumstances from being physically present for the counseling he/she may authorize another individual to represent him/her at the counseling.  This representative must carry the letter of authorization.

  • Candidates will be given a verification slip after their documents have been verified. A high security User ID and password will be provided which the candidate should use to login and see the merit list. It is advisable to candidates to change their passwords.

  • Candidates will be required to attend verification sessions at their own cost on the notified date and time.

  • Absence of the candidate or his/her representative at the indicated reporting time and date will result in the instantaneous forfeiture of any claim for a seat.

  • Candidates have to produce all documents as stipulated and other terms and conditions as stated in medical admission application forms.

  • Admissions made at the MBBS admission sessions 2019 are provisional, subject to verification of eligibility.

  • Merit list will be generated by computer.
     

Entry after Receiving Verification Number

  • The candidate will have the choice to enter all the options in the discipline to which he/she is eligible.

  • Candidate has to enter the options for all the discipline at once. If the candidate is eligible for multiple disciplines i.e., both for Medical and Dental and/or Farm Science courses / B.Pharma, options has to be exercised for all the discipline in the same entry form.

  • That means, first option may be Medical, second option may also be Medical, third option may be Dental, fourth one may be again Medical, fifth option can be Dental, the sixth may be Farm Science etc and so on.

  • Entering the priority numbers means you are interested to join that particular college and courses.

  • There is no limit for entry of options. A Candidate can enter any number of options as he / she wishes to exercise on his / her own priority.

  • Candidates are advised to enter more number of options to avoid the disappointment of not securing a seat.

  • Candidate’s interest in the discipline, college infrastructure, course, distance from your place, availability of hostel etc may be some of the issues to guide your choices of options.

  • Options recorded in the server on the last day and time of the notified schedule in each round will be frozen and only the frozen options will be considered for allotment of seats. The candidates are advised to take a print out of the option entered by them in each round after the last date and time for entry of options is over.

  • Do not disclose the Secret Keyword / Password with others.
     

Merit List

Once the results have been declared, students need to keep in touch to know about BDS & MBBS merit lists to know the course and college for which they have been selected. Once your documents have been verified you need to the KEA website and log in with your unique number.

Mock results will be displayed on May 2019 while real results will be published and updated regularly after May 2019.
