The candidates seeking admissions into the Medical courses offered by the Annamalai University must fulfill the following criteria:
Citizenship: The candidate must be an Indian citizen. The Non-resident Indian Candidates who are registered under the section 7A of Citizenship Act are eligible to apply for the MBBS/BDS courses.
Nativity: The candidate must be a native of Tamil Nadu and the candidates who have studied in Tamil Nadu from class 8th to class 12th are not supposed to bring the Nativity Certificate. Candidates who are the natives of Tamil Nadu but have completed their class 8th to class 12th either partly or completely from outside Tamil Nadu are supposed to show their Nativity Certificate which is being issued by the competent authority and in the specific formats along with a copy of Birth Certificate/ Ration Card/Passport. If the candidates fails to submit the relevant Nativity Certificate or the documents enclosed the application will be rejected.
Age Limit: The candidates applying for the MBBS/BDS courses should have completed 17 years on or before 31st December, 2018. The necessary certificates, birth/matriculation are needed to be produced as age proof at the time of admission.
Educational Qualification: The candidates applying for the BDS/MBBS courses must have qualified the HSC Tamil Nadu/ any other equivalent Board in first chance with pass in all subjects.
The minimum marks required for MBBS are:
For General Communities:
A minimum of 60% aggregate in Zoology, Biology or Botany taken altogether
A minimum of 60% aggregate in each subjects; Physics and Chemistry
The weighted aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of the marks in (b) should never be less than 140 out of 200 marks.
For backward classes and Muslim backward classes:
A minimum of 60% aggregate in Zoology, Biology or Botany taken altogether
A minimum of 60% aggregate in each subjects; Physics and Chemistry
The weighted aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of the marks in (b) should never be less than 130 out of 200 marks.
For SC/ST/SC- Arunthathiyar:
A minimum of 40% aggregate in Zoology, Biology or Botany taken altogether
A minimum of 40% aggregate in each subjects; Physics and Chemistry
The weighted aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of the marks in (b) should never be less than 80 out of 200 marks.
The minimum marks required for BDS are: Candidates of SC/ST/OBC/MBC/DNC/SC- Arunthathiyar should have the scores not less than 50% of the aggregate in Chemistry, Physics, Botany/ Biology and Zoology taken altogether. For rest of the communities the aggregate is 60% in the above mentioned subjects altogether.

Candidates applying for admission into MBBS/BDS courses are supposed to submit the common application form with all the necessary documents and certificates enclosed on or before June 2015 by 5.00pm on the address mentioned below:

The form can be availed from the cash counter at the administrative office of the University by paying cash.
The application form can also be obtained by post, after sending a letter for the application along with a demand draft and a self addressed envelope with stamp attached of Rs. 25.
The application forms can also be downloaded from the university website, and after filling the form it is to be sent to the Annamalai University with the DD attached.
The University will not be held responsible for and delay in postal services for receiving of the application forms. Also the documents sent after the application forms are also not be taken into consideration and the application will be rejected.
The applications for the MBBS/BDS courses are to be filled in the OMR sheets after reading the instruction carefully.
The information being out up in the OMR will be processed in the computer and hence students are advised to fill them neatly and any mistake can lead to the rejection of the application form.
Using pin/Making Hole/folding the OMR sheets can be resulting in rejection of the application.
The candidates must sign the form before sending along with passport size photographs on the asked column are also to be attached with the form. The Photographs attached on the OMR sheet need not to be attested.
All the information in the application are to be valid, as the examination of the forms will be done thoroughly and in case the details mentioned are found to be improper or tampered then it may also result in legal action against the candidate and he will not be allowed for a period of 3 years to appear for the entrance exam.

All the documents attached are to be attested by a Gazetted officer and following documents are to be enclosed:
Photocopy of HSC / Equivalent Certificate attested by a Gazetted officer
Photocopy of 10th Mark Sheet attested by a Gazetted officer
Photocopy of HSC Hall Ticket
Photocopy of Nativity Certificate (if applicable) attested by a Gazetted officer
Photocopy of Transfer Certificate attested by a Gazetted officer
Special Reservation Form(s) with relevant certificate(s) if applicable
Photocopy of the Permanent Community Certificate Card for SC, ST, MBC, SCA & DNC, BC, BCM which are to be obtained from relevant authorities and attested by a Gazetted officer
Syllabus
The syllabus for the AU AIMEE 2018 will be just as prescribed for High School Certificate Examination held by the Tamil Nadu Board. The questions set in the exam are from the Chemistry, Physics and Biology sections of the HSC syllabus of Tamil Nadu Board.
Exam Pattern
The AU AIMEE 2018 exam paper will be consisting of objective type multiple choice questions and will be divided in to the three sections:
Chemistry: 50 Questions
Physics: 50 Questions
Biology: 100 Questions
Total Number of Questions: 200
Qualifying Criteria: Candidates securing same merit in the exam will be allotted seat on the basis of marks obtained in HSE (Physics, Biology, Chemistry) taken altogether along with the marks scored in Biology (Paper I) and the marks obtained in Biology under the qualifying exam. Also the DOB will be taken into consideration and the elder candidates shall be given preference.

SC, ST, BCM, BC, SCA and MBC/DNC candidates are also eligible for the admission procedure under the open competition as per the merit in addition to the reservations made for these categories.

The admission information has also been sent to the registered mobile numbers given during the application filing by the candidates
The total number of seats is 150 for MBBS programme and 100 in BDS programme, the admission procedure solely depends on the merit and the availability of the seats
If in case the candidates have not received the Counseling call letter, they are allowed to attend the counseling procedure as per the dates and time set and also as per the cut-offs declared
Candidates receiving the revised marks RV/RT (Revaluation and Re-totaling) to be present at the counseling as per their revised marks as mentioned in the scheduled brochure for the counseling.
Candidates are also required to present the non-refundable Counseling process fee of INR 5000/- at the Counseling Venue in order to Register for Counseling
Candidates selected for the counseling process are also to be present with 2 sets of photocopies of the following documents: 10th Board Certificate and Mark sheet, 12th Board/HSC/Equivalent Exam Mark sheet and Certificate, Transfer/Migration certificate, Permanent Community Certificates for the SC, ST, DNC, SCA, BC, BCM and MBC, Nativity Certificate (if applicable), Income Certificate (if applicable), 4 Recent passport size photographs of the candidate.
Candidates invited for the counseling procedure are supposed to be present at the counseling venue before one hour of the scheduled time.
