NITUK or National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand is one of the 31 NITs established in India. It was established in 2009 and its campus expands over 3 acres of land. In 2021, it was ranked 186th as per the NIRF rankings in the engineering category. However, in 2022 the institution’s ranking has made immense progress. It is ranked 131 as per the 2022 NIRF rankings in the engineering category. One interesting fact about the NITUK is that it is located on the banks of Alaknanda River in Srinagar (Garhwal), about 100 KM ahead of Haridwar and Rishikesh, two of the holiest pilgrimages in Sanatan Dharma and also known as the gateways to the “Chota Char Dham”. Its impeccable location makes learning here worthwhile and helps students connect with the true culture of India.
The admission to B.Tech courses in NIT Uttarakhand is done on the basis of JEE Main rank. Students have to participate in the JOSAA counselling process. The student must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognised education board and should have scored at least 75% marks in the 10+2 examination. If not, the student must get a position in the top 20 percentile in the JEE Main. Students can pursue B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronic & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering from NITUK.

In case of foreign candidates seeking admission in B.Tech programs in NITUK, the admissions are done through Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA). NITUK has already released the seat matrix for DASA along with fee structure for DASA 2022. Students can check the details on the NIT Uttarakhand website. The JEE Main cut off for B.Tech admissions is not yet released but will be available soon on the NITUK website once the JOSAA counselling process begins.
Until then students can check the previous year cutoffs for NIT Uttarakhand JEE Main and get a clear estimate of whether they will be able to get admission in B.Tech courses or not.

As per 2021 placement statistics, most students were placed in the civil engineering branch (~87%) followed by the electronic engineering branch. As per the 2022 statistics, students from computer science and engineering have got the highest placements followed by electrical and electronics engineering.
NIT Uttarakhand has 9 departments including Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences.
The first-semester fee for OBC and General category students whose parent's annual income is more than 5 lacs is around 97000 rupees. If their parent's income is between 1 lac to 5 lacs, the first-semester fee is around 56000 rupees. For SC/ST students and OBC/General students whose parents have an annual income of less than 1 lac the first-semester fee is around 36000 rupees.
