NIT Meghalaya JEE Main 2023 Cutoff

 

NIT (National Institute of Technology) Meghalaya will release the cutoff for JEE Main 2023 after the declaration of Session 2 results. This institute, established in 2010, offers various UG, PG, and research programs in the field of Engineering. The NIT Meghalaya JEE Main cutoff will be prepared based on various factors such as the total number of candidates appearing for the exam, the difficulty level of the exam, and trends from previous year's cutoff, etc.

NIT Meghalaya is located in Shillong, Meghalaya. It is also known as NIT Shillong or NITM and is one of the 31 NITs established by the Government of India. The institute offers BE/BTech courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering.

It has a beautiful campus situated at the edge of Umiam Lake, offering a stunning view of the lake and the nearby hills. The city is famous for its laid-back culture and is often referred to as the ""Scotland of the East.""

1. What is the JEE Main cutoff for NIT Meghalaya?

The 2022 JEE Main cutoffs have not been released yet. Last year, the closing rank for the Civil Engineering branch for General category students is 10,0941. But this varies with each course and category.

 

2. Is NITM good?

Yes, NIT Meghalaya is a good institute for engineering. It is one of the fastest-growing NITs in the northeastern states. Compared to other NITs in the northeast, NITM has a better placement record. The temporary campus has space constraints but has all the basic infrastructure and facilities.

 

3. What is the placement scenario at NITM?

NIT Shillong achieved more than 70% placements. Some of the top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, IBM etc., visit the campus for placements. The highest package offered was around INR 46 LPA and the average package was around INR 10 LPA.

 

4. Does NIT Meghalaya have a permanent campus?

NIT Meghalaya is working from a temporary campus in Shillong since 2012. Its permanent campus is being constructed in Cherapunjee and it will feature world-class facilities and infrastructure.

 

5. How is life at NIT Meghalaya?

Best among the new NITs, NIT Meghalaya has highly qualified and supportive faculty. Tech fest called Cognitia is organized every year by NITM. The institute has a decent placement record. Mechanical Engineering is the best branch here.

The weather in Shillong is amazing. Lush green mountains and the natural beauty of the campus surroundings make students fall in love with the place. The temporary campus of NIT Meghalaya is still basic but each department has all the necessary laboratories. 

The hostels are set up in different buildings across Shillong but all of them are fully furnished, have high-speed Wi-Fi, and have a mess. Buses ply between hostels and the college to make the commute easier for students.
