1 mole of element x has mass, 0.444 times the mass of 1mole of element Y. one average atom of element x has mass 2.96 times the mass of one atom of ^12c. what is the atomic wt. of Y?

atomic mass of C = 12, so, so atomic wt. of X = 2.96 * 12.. 
given, 1 mole of element x has mass, 0.444 times the mass of 1mole of element Y.
so atomic weight of X = 0.444* atomic weight of Y.. 
so atomic weight of Y = atomic weight of X /0.444 = 2.96*12 / 0.44= 80.72
after that divide the answer by avagadro no. to get weight of one atom. 
so final answer = 80.72/6.023* 10^23.. (answer )

firstly, atomic wt of X = 0.444 × atomic wt of Y Now 12g of carbon = 6.023 × 10^ 23 atomsso mass of one atom in grams = 12/6.023×10^23Multiplying the above result with 2.96 we get mass of one atom of X and further more multiplying it with 6.023×10^23 we get mass of one mole of X i.e atomic wt of X so(12/Avogadro number ) × Avogadro number × 2.96 = atomic wt of Y × 0.444 .atomic wt of Y =( 12×2.96) /0.444 = 80 Ansplease go through each and every single line you can easily figure out the concept..
