Because in the eyes of owl there r many cells like rods and cones which are sensitive to heat and owl not see in night but he/she means to owl can see only heat in the things which r present there so in day his eyes r very sentive because of sunlight hence by this much heat is reaches in his eyes that why he is not able to see in the day

Owls have extraordinary night vision, it is often thought that they are blind in strong light or day light. This is not true.
Most nocturnal animals are largely inactive during the day to avoid over-stimulating their highly sensitive eyes (They have more rods and less cones and are very sensitive to light.). Nocturnal animals have specialized pupils to shut out damaging bright light. So, they are relatively inactive during day or in strong light area in the night.
Some species of Owls can actually see better than humans in bright light.
