The adrenal glands are small glands located on top of each kidney. They produce hormones that you can't live without, including sex hormones and cortisol. Cortisol helps you respond to stress and has many other important functions. With adrenal gland disorders, your glands make too much or not enough hormones.

adrenal glands : our body has a pair of adrenal glands on the top of each kidney. it secretes two hotmones called adrenaline and nor-adrenaline in response to stress and any kind of emergency situation. thus these are called emergency hormone or flight or fight hormones.

thymus gland : this gland is located on dorsal side of heart and arota, it is a lobular structure. it secretes peptide hormones called Thymosins which help in differentiation of T-lymphocytes and thus provide cell mediated immunity. 
 
parathyroid gland : present on back of thyroid gland. it secretes the peptide hormone called Prathyroid hormone. it increases calcium(Ca2+) levels in the blood and acts on bones and srtimulates bone restoration.
