Hi Soumya,

Immune surveillance is a theory that the immune system patrols the body not only to recognize and destroy invading pathogens but also host cells that become cancerous.

Mutant cells (cancerous) are those cells in the body which have undergone mutation. The cell surface of mutant cells shows some abnormal cell surface proteins.

Hope the answer of the question.
