It ranges from 2 MHz to approximately 15 MHz in Ultrasound frequenciesin diagnostic radiology
Following frequencies are used as a guide to frequencies normally used for ultrasound examination:
· 2.5 MHz: Used for deep abdomen, obstetric and gynaecological imaging
· 3.5 MHz: Used for general abdomen, obstetric and gynaecological imaging
· 5.0 MHz: Used for vascular, breast, pelvic imaging
· 7.5 MHz: Used for breast, thyroid
· 10.0 MHz: Used for breast, thyroid, superficial veins, superficial masses, musculoskeletal imaging.
· 15.0 MHz:Used for superficial structures, musculoskeletal imaging.
