sum of square of derivative taken from mean is minimum and it is call d standard deviations.

The sum of squares of the derivative of the items which taken from the arithmetic mean is mnimum , It is termed as Standard deviaton.
 
Sx = sqrt ( Xi  –  x(bar))/n-1 
n – no. of data point 
Xi = Each of the value of data
x(bar) = Mean of Xi
