Non coded amino acids Any alpha- amino acid residue occuring in a polypeptide or protein for wich no codon exists is called non coded amino acids.
Residue of these amino acids are formed by residue of the corresponds coded amino acids by post- translational modification od the polypeptide chain. They are also called rare amino acids.
