In primitive time at the time of formation of earth there was a non oxygenated atmosphere of CH₄, NH_3,CO₂,CO, NO₂, H₂O etc.
Due to cooling and compression caused by increased pressure the chemical reacted compressed againt each other and cooled to form the first life on earth in water.
