POTASSIUM DICHROMATE K2 Cr2 O7
oxidation state of chromium –
2(K)+ 2(Cr)+ 7(O) = 0
enter values ( common oxidation states)
let oxidation state of chromium be X
Therefore,
2(1)+ 2x + 7(-2) = 0
2+ 2x – 14 = 0
x= 12/2
x=6
