phenotypic: physical traits adapting to environment. ex: giraffes have long necks so that they could eat from trees; they adapted so they can survive.
Different humans have different blood types = variation across a population.
genetic adaptation is when an animal or organism "evolves" in small ways over a period of time to adapt or fit in with its environment. an example of this is the birds on the Galapagos islands, on each island the finches have different beak shapes and sizes depending on what food they eat. genetic adaptation takes a long period of time..
