Dear Student

By finding the boiling point of a given colourless liquid. If the liquid boils at 100oC at atmospheric pressure, then it is pure water. This is because pure substances have fixed melting and boiling point.

Thanks

Dear Student,

Evaporate the colourless liquid on a low flame. If no residue is left and boiling exactly at 100 ºC, then it is pure water; otherwise, not. The boiling point and freezing point of the water are 100 °C or 373 K and 0 °C or 273 K at one atmosphere of pressure. The boiling point of water varies with atmospheric pressure. When any impurity in water is found, it will change the boiling point of water.

Hope it helps!
Thank you ✌️
