Hormones activate
target cells by diffusing through the plasma membrane of target cells (lipid-soluble hormones) to bind a receptor protein within the cytoplasm of the cell or by binding a specific receptor protein in the cell membrane of the target cell (water-soluble proteins) .
for steroid or thyroid hermone , their receptors are located inside the cell within the target cell .
once your body is in emergency condition , then these receptors will send nerve impulse or signal to the brain ,
and the brain will activate it through signal in the receptors .
