Dear student
Cytokinesis in plant cells: The division of the cytoplasm takes place by cell plate formation.
Cell plate formation starts at the centre of the cell and grows outward, toward the lateral walls.
Cytokinesis is animal cells:
The division of the cytoplasm takes place by cell furrow method.
Furrow starts at the periphery and then moves inward, dividing the cell into two parts.

Cytokinesis in plant cells
The major difference between an animal cell and a plant cell is that plants are made up of an extra-rigid cell wall, and therefore, a special kind of microtubules are involved in the completion of cytokinesis. These are known as the phragmoplasts.
