A male honey beehas 16 chromosomes where as its female has 32 chromosomes? Give reason.

Bees have a different number of chromosomes. Females, workers and queens have32,16are contributed by the queen's eggs and16come from the drones sperm. Since drones hatch from unfertilized eggs, they only have the16 chromosomesthat were in the egg. Drones are haploid because they only have one set of chromosomes.

Male come from unfertilized egg son having 16 chromosome. And form male gamet by mitosis not meosis. Queen and worker are fertilizer but queen has given special food called royal jelly so become more stemina.
