It is that if you notice that this classification is purely based on the evolution and even this has some demerits which paved a way for several other modifications on this.

Demerits of five- kingdom Classification:Although this system is considered to be an advanced system but still objections have been raised against this, which are following.
  • It fails to distinguish between archaebacteria and eubacteria.
  • The kingdom- Protista is a highly heterogeneous group of organisms, which seems to be having polyphyletic evolution.
  • Placement of algae on the basis of the degree of the cellular organization into different kingdoms appears to be unrealistic.
  • Red and brown algae placed in kingdom – Plantae is not related to other members.
  • Viruses an important form of life has not been considered in this system of classification.
