What is the exact relationship between the width of a slit and, amplitude and Intensity? Because in three to four books it is given that the width is directly proportional to the intensity and in some that it is proportional to the amplitude.

In YDSE: slit width is directly proportional to intensity
IN SINGLE SLIT: Slit width is directly proportional to amplitude / directly proportional to intensity square.
