Oscillation of Wave with more than one orientation is Called Polarisation
There are three types of Classifications:
Linear Polarisation
Circular polarisation
Elliptical Polarisation

OBTAINING OF POLARISED LIGHT CAN BE DONE BY TH FOLLOWING METHODS i.e.,
By 1. Scattering
2. Reflection
3. Refraction
4. Double Refraction (Birefringence)

Polarization  is a property of waves that can oscillate with more than one orientation. Electromagnetic waves such as light exhibit polarization, as do some other types of wave, such as gravitational waves.
and as u want to know diffrent method by which we want to obtain the plane polarised light then u need to first know what is actually plane polarised light
1- they are actually the light wave in which vibration occurs in the same plane .
and the plane polarised light can be produced by the following method
1- fresnels biprism
2- reflection / refraction
3- scattering of light due to dust particle in air
4- and by passing a light waves by a polariser simply .
