The Standard free energies of formation are basically G^o .

Now you have G^o for the formation of H2O, CO2 and Pentane.

H2 + 1/2O2 = H2O …. G^o is -237.2

Similarly for the formation of CO2 and pentane , G^o are givem

Now combustion of pentane is (pentane oxygen fuel cell)

pentane + O2 = CO2 + H2O .

Balance the equation. this becomes the target equation. Using the equations for the formation of pentane, CO2 and H2O, write G^o of this target equation in terms of G^o of CO2 , H2O and Pentane.

Now we have G^o for the pentane oxygen fuel cell, use this G^o to calculate E^o using formula

G^o = -nFE^o
