- if light is made of magnetic and electric field and both of them can pass through any thin or thick surface, then how come light is not able to pass through that surface? Why it reflects and we are not able to see light on other side of surface?

Dear student

It will be easier once you have strong EMT (electromagnetic theory) starting from maxwell equations. Light absorption is linked to the particle nature of light.

whereas the reflection is related to the wave theory of light
