A classical object, like a marble or the Moon, has a well defined location in space and can be simultaneously assigned a well-defined velocity. It obeys derterministic laws (eg Newton’s) which let us predict its future state precisely.

A quantum object, such as an electron, is not described accurately by classical laws. We cannot assign it trajectories (in general) but only talk about the probability of it being here or there, or having such and such momentum etc.

This gives rise to many different type of phenomena exhibited by quantum objects that are not exhibited by classical objects, such as interference patterns in the double slit experiment.

In certain limits (eg large mass, decoherence, etc) quantum systems will approach classicality, the details depending on the system.
