The complete reflection of a light ray reaching an interface with a less dense medium when the angle of incidence exceeds the critical angle.

When light passes from densar to rarer medium ,if angle of incident is greater than the critical angle, then the total light rays traped into the denser medium is called "Total Internal Reflection".
