if the upper half of a convex lens is painted black,, what difference will it cause in the real image formed by the lens???

The intensity of the image formed on the screen would be reduced by a factor of 2.

 

But there will be no change in the position of the image.

The image would be formed as such it was formed before of the same size

Well when we cover any half of a mirror or lens then the focal lens is not changing. Therefore the position of image will not vary.  But since a half is covered rays approaching that part will not be reflected or refracted therefore image will be having half the intensity as the original one
