can a sodium vapour lamp produce fringe pattern in youngs double slit experiment.

if not so why?

Single-element light sources, such as sodium or mercury vapour lamps have emission lines with quite narrow frequency spectra. When these are spatially and colour filtered, and then split into two waves, they can be superimposed to generate interference fringes.
