hi, pl guide me through thisAre light particles deviated by dirt particles present in air. In case the answer is yes then it contradicts the fact that light travels in straight line.regards Saatvik

you cant say exactly deviation. they are scattered( also a deviation) by the corresponding sized particles.

this is reason we see blue colour and light in a bit dark room even the light is outside the room

travelling in straight lines does not mean that light will go through particle. its free motion is straight path. one collision to next one it goes straight.

Conventionally, Is is believed that light travels in a straight line path. However, recently it has been found that when light come across very minute particles having a very minute radius, then the path of light is deviated and passes through the surface of the particle. This deviation is so minute and small that we usually take this to travel in a straight line.
