Why frequency not change after refraction?

Frequncy is the property of the source and not of the medium. Take for instance, if you have a red laser and make the beam to pass through a glass slab, then due to change in the refractive index of tthe medium, the velocity and wavelength will change but not the frequency as it is still the same laser that is emitting the red light.
