DEAR SURI,

Standing wave , that is also known as stationary wave is a wave in a medium in which each point on the axis of the wave has an associated constant amplitude , and the point within them are oscillating with the range of maximum and minimum amplitude .
The location at which the amplitude is minimum is called as nodes , and the location or point where the amplitude is maximum is called as antinodes .
DE BROGLIE , USED THE CONCEPT OF STANDING WAVE TO PROOF THAT PARTICLE IN MOTION HAVE DUAL CHARECTER , THAT IS PARTICLE AND WAVE .
HOPE IT CLEARS YOUR DOUBT
