What does wave equation indicate, terms like { like[wt-kx] where at is angular displacement with is subrated with linear displacement and if kx phase difference then ,why it is said that phase difference between 2 /more wave.

k is a wave number or propagation number, represented mathematically as k=2(pie)/(lembda)

lembda = walength

Basically it represents the number of waves present in the given 2(pie) space.
