time taken by stone to reach in water 
t1 = \sqrt{2h/g} = \sqrt{2*300/9.8} = 7.82 s
time taken by splash to reach at top of tower
t2= h/v = 300/340 = 0.88 s
So total time = t1 + t2 = 8.7 s
