Consider some random standing wave equation.Say y=-Asinkxcoswt.Since it oscillates in 3rd overtone,L=4lamda.So at L/3,x=4lamda/3.Substituting this in the equation,y=-Asin(4π/3)coswt.So amplitude at distance a/3 is Asin(4π/3) which is a√3/2
