True, only a standing wave can have nodes and antinodes,
nodes are place in a standing wave where the amplitude is zero
and antideoes and points on a standing wave where the amplitude is always maximum.
the amplitude the standing wave changes with respect to 2Acos(kx) is both the waves incident are opposite and of same amplitude.
